Mō‘ili‘ili Matters

Where the Mō‘ili‘ili community gathers online

Much to both my surprise and delight, I read in today's Honolulu Advertiser, that our Mayor wants to crack down on bulky item pick-up violations. CLICK HERE for article.

I consider this good news, however, I had an interesting experience today (the same day this was reported in the news). I called HPD to report a bulk item dump violation today and the dispatcher argued with me saying, bulk item pick-up happens every week and that it was okay for the violators to place the trash out this morning. That's just a summarized version of what happened. It was not very encouraging to experience. This is what we're supposed to be doing, calling in violations, but, I was not getting the response I should have been getting.

Derek and all others who wish to report these kinds of activities: According to HPD anytime a dispatcher gives you a hard time, ask for a supervisor.
