THe homeless in AlaWai park are now out of site, squatting under a tree. I hope they stay there when they open the bathroom up again.

Middle Patrol went out last night 1/15/10 Greg, Rob, Renee, and Clifton. Joined by HPD. Lots of new grafitti. Found a dog stuck in a fence, notifed the owner who got the dog out.

Nov. 3rd saw the Mo'ili'ili Citizen Patrol, help initiate a new C.P. group from Manoa. With HPD joining in, we discussed what we do, whom we call, how long we walk, whom we report to, etc. We then took a short walk to show them what we had just talked about - a little "hands on" work.
Another group from Manoa will be joining us later this month, for the same orientation.
Makes me proud that our Mo'ili'ili Citizen Patrol, in its 12th continuous year of service to the community, is thought of by HPD and other communities to be a resource. We can always use a few more volunteers.

Tonight (July 8) was the District 7 Neighborhood Security Watch annual meeting. Area extends from Punahou St to Makapuu Point so lots of security watch and citizen patrol groups present at Kalani High. Chief Correia's last meeting with us. Good information, good questions and good food.

Mo'ili'ili has two Citizen Patrol groups that are active and productive. The Mo'ili'ili Citizen's Patrol has been active and walking weekly for twelve (12) years. It focuses on the area from the Ala Wai Canal mauka to UH lower campus and ewa as far as McCully Street (sometimes further).

Our second patrol is brand new and we are calling it, for now, the Middle Patrol. Only organized one month ago, they are out and about and overlap the areas of the Mo'ili'ili patrol and the McCully patrol.

Each patrol walks on different nights, at various times, and varies their routes. Our job, is to be the eyes & ears to assist HPD - we call 911 we do not get involved.

In the twelve years on patrol, to call in, there have been: domestic diputes, traffic accidents, missing signage to report, drug deals, drinking in the parks, vandalism, etc. I'm happy to say, most nights we just have a nice walk and get to talk to neighbors one-on-one.

Want to get involved? Join the site, add a comment and we will be in contact.
