Hello Derek, Thank you for the invite...I might attend...pending what side of the bed I get up on that day...however, this "sounds" like a more "social" function as to a work or discussion function. I might be more comfortable coming to a Reg. meet…

What is one thing you like about Mō‘ili‘ili?
Location & family....which is why we relocated to Hawaii...to take care of family
What is one thing you would change about Mō‘ili‘ili?
Hours of Bulk...Roll Away trash pick up.
I've called the trash company - City police and now, that the election is over and I have years to work on....I'm do not wish to hear trash trucks picking up "Roll Away" at 3:30 am / 4 am / 4:15am ....I could go on and on.
Aparently, since all I do is call and complain amd the trash company says "we will look into it" and the police say, "there just doing there job" well at 4 am it is very bad business...Can we do something about this?

Aloha Bill,

Mahalo for your comment. I do not have a mailing list of all registered voters in Mōʻiliʻili, but you may want to see if the State elections office has that information. You can check out http://hawaii.gov/elections/contact/ in addition, you may also want to check out MelissaData.com for other types of mailing lists.

Aloha and welcome to Mōʻiliʻiliʻi Matters Bill. Itʻs great to have you on here. I also appreciate you sharing your concerns about the extremely early garbage pick up times. I never realized that garbage was picked up that early. Reading Ron Lockwoodʻs comment below shows that their is support to change what is currently happening. Hopefully those pick-up times can get changed.

We hope to hear more from you in the near future.

Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with regarding this site.

The response the Neighborhood Board has received from Honolulu Disposal Service is that, (1) "they need to pick up early before the traffic starts up" and "(2) they need to pick up early as the dumps close early - 3:30 p.m. and they would not be able to complete their runs on time. They are not allowed to store rubbish in their trucks overnight so that they could be first in line at the dumps."

I've documented over 36 weeks of their picking up rubbish anywhere from 3:45 a.m. to 4:20 a.m. along University Ave and then along Kapiolani to McCully Shopping Center.

We'll keep trying to fix this noisy problem. Hearing from more neighbors, on this topic, will be a big help. Next year is an election year for many offices - let's make these people accountable.
