Does anyone in Mo'ili'ili get a full night's sleep anymore?
It seems that every night I am woken up by automobiles and/or motorcycles that have outrageously loud exhaust systems. There is no reason why people should be allowed to operate vehicles that are public nuisances and hazards to public health. The effects of noise pollution on people is well documented.
There have been a couple of bills that have come before our elected officials in regard to this issue, but no progress ever seems to be made.
One roadblock is how to determine what "too loud" is. Those studies have been done in other cities, so it should not have to cost Honolulu an exorbitant amount of money to perform those studies again.
This is a high density neighborhood, so some noise is to be expected. However, it seems that there are those who just love to annoy as many people as they can for blocks around.
Peace, please.
