Maintaining a safe, clean and thriving community.
Driving down King Street now is so much nicer without the presence of tents lining King Street. The homeless people who lived there for months to more-than-a-year have all vanished. They're all gone - like magic.
We know however that this cannot be true. Our homeless issue is way more complex than that.
I've missed going to Stadium Park. Although I'm sure the park is more welcoming in appearance now, I can't help but wonder what the next step is. The homeless were kicked-out of Waikiki. They vanished from Waikiki (kind of), but then we found them in our neighborhood. Where will they go next?
I'm curious to hear from friends and neighbors what they're thoughts are on the recent efforts. Did our leaders find a real (and lasting) solution, or is this an illusion that gives us a false sense of the problem being solved?
